Two guided walks of Tooting Common are being held on Sunday, May 16, to celebrate the launch of the Friends of Tooting Common (FTC).
The FTC was formed last summer and aims to make the common “a better place for people, plants and wildlife through campaigning and organising events and volunteer workdays”.
A nature walk at 11am is followed by a history Walk at 1.30pm. Both begin and end at the cafe in the common and last approximately one-and-a-half hours.
Those interested can also meet members of the FTC at 10.30am at the cafe.
Earlier this year, FTC conducted a survey of 172 common users who identified free public toilets as a priority for the common.
Membership of the FTC is £6 per person or £10 per family and includes a quarterly newsletter.
