Danny Waldren has warned the Ryman Premier that Croydon Athletic will only get better next season.

The Rams gained promotion from Ryman Division One South last week, lifting the trophy after Saturday's game with Ramsgate, and Waldren, Croydon's longest serving player, believes Premier League football will suit Tim O'Shea's side.

"The higher up we get the better we will be," said the 21-year old midfielder.

"The lower you are in the pyramid the more hoofball and tackling there is but when you get higher up you get more time on the ball and it's more technical.

"We have a lot of technical players in our side so we will benefit from that."

Waldren made his Rams debut at left-back five years ago before switching into a central midfield role and he admits promotion is the best moment of his career so far.

"It feels absolutely brilliant," he said.

"Last Tuesday was fantastic, everyone went mad after the final whistle and cuddled and kissed each other.

"I have been here for five years and without a doubt this is the best moment.

"Ever since I have been here we have never really achieved anything, we have always struggled.

"When Mahzar Majeed the owner came in we began to get all these new players and things improved.

"We have experienced players and young players and we have jest gelled together really well."
