Possible threats to Kingston Hospital will be under the spotlight again at a Conservative campaign meeting this weekend.
Tory shadow health secretary Andrew Lansley will attend a meeting held by Helen Whately and Zac Goldsmith, candidates for Kingston and Surbiton, and Richmond Park. on Saturday, April 24 from 5pm to 6pm at St Peters Church, Norbiton.
Mr Lansley has previously said he will "rip-up" the current review of healthcare in south-west London if the Conservatives gain power.
Documents leaked to Liberal Democrat MPs Edward Davey and Susan Kramer showed out of 18 options decided on before Christmas by clinicians carrying out the review, 16 involved the loss of a major service at Kingston although the review team say no final decisions have yet been made.
But their Save Kingston Hospital campaign has been criticised by Tories for scaremongering although unions say the MPs were right to go public with their concerns.
