Young storytellers at a Wimbledon school have been named the best in the borough.
Tales created by children at Garfield Primary School in Wimbledon were praised this week by the judges of a short story competition.
Tuition company Explore Learning invited pupils aged seven to 11 from across Merton to write a story on the themes of lost or found.
Tutors from Explore Learning held an assembly at the Garfield Road school to set the challenge - and returned on Tuesday to hand out certificates and a trophy to the winning school.
Deputy headteacher Sarah Leyland said: “We were really pleased - we are trying to capture childrens’ imaginations.”
