Ex Service community of Haig Homes Morden, celebrate 150 years of the Cadet force with a Fun Day on Saturday 19th June at 12:00.

Haig Homes in Morden is home to the biggest ex service community in Britain, and has been joined in recent years by a growing Gurkha community. We have been part of Morden since 1929 though remain little known about, and was established as a Charitable Trust as a memorial to Field Marshal Earl Haig of Bemersyde KT GCB OM GCVO KCIE in recognition of his work to highlight and solve many problems facing ex-Service people and their families.

As part of an equally long standing residents association, we often enjoy the company of our fellow residents during the yearly fun day, where we all contribute to having a great day for all our family and friends on our field in front of Rhodes-Moorhouse Court, one minutes walk from St Helier railway station.

This year we are delighted to join in with the cadet force with their 150 year anniversary and invited them to attend.

We would like to open this event up to the ex service community and their families within the borough of Wimbledon & Merton.

The Army careers team will be on site, and if you are interested they will be available to answer your questions on all aspects of army life.

The Army careers team also have a dedicated equality and diversity team who will be willing to assist with minority groups with any questions, concerns or enquiries about Army life. Plus they are bringing a paintballing range for some fun.

There will also be some entertainment for all ages, and soft refreshments and nibbles being supplied by our local Mosque. In addition, our own residents will be supplying drinks and food, and the Gurkha ladies will be offering their traditional cuisine.
