The next JLS, Leona Lewis or Diversity could be discovered at a talent show grand final this week.
Merton’s Got Youth Talent - a charity event at Bishopsford School on Friday - will feature the borough’s brightest young stars.
Secondary schools across Merton have been holding heats to find their top entertainers ahead of this week’s final, where 14 acts will go head-to-head in an X-Factor style competition.
The event at the Morden school will raise cash for the mayor of Merton’s nominated good causes - mental health charity Merton Mind and Grenfell Housing and Training, a support service for homeless young people.
The competition will feature acts from Bishopsford, St Marks, Ursuline, Raynes Park, Ricards Lodge, Wimbledon College and Cricket Green schools - as well as a performance by 90s pop singer Angie Brown.
A cash prize and recording studio session are up for grabs for the winner and their school. For tickets email mayor@merton.gov.uk or call 020 8545 3517.
