A man who was found with unexplained head injuries in Battersea has died.

Police said they were keeping “an open mind” as to how George Sinclair, who was found outside Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Battersea Park Road, came to be seriously injured.

The 59-year-old, from Brixton, was found with a head injury about 10.14pm on Tuesday, April 13. He died on Friday.

Sergeant Harry Wilkinson, of the Metropolitan Police’s Hampton Traffic Garage, said: “It is unclear at present how George came to be injured.

"Although he may have been the victim of a traffic collision, it is equally possible that he may have been the victim of an assault.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who knew George and who may have information about what he was doing or where he was going on the night of April 13.

“The collision investigation unit is working closely with colleagues from Wandsworth police, and it is essential that anyone who may have seen an incident near Battersea Dogs Home late on Tuesday evening come forward.”
