There will be a distinct lack of golf this weekend for one Surbiton householder, after their golfclubs were burned in a garage fire.
Firefighters from New Malden and Surbiton attended the fire in Corkran Road this afternoon, at about 1pm.
Watch manager Dave Englefield said: “The whole garage and roof was damaged, including the contents.”
They spent about 15 minutes putting out flames in the garage, which workmen had been working on.
Mr Englefield could not say what had caused the fire.
