A dance troupe that won a contest to star in an advert for a Hollywood blockbuster is set to appear at the Croydon Fashion Festival.

Drawing on the popularity of acts such as Diversity, from the TV show Britain’s Got Talent, this year’s Croydon Fashion Festival will feature some lively dance routines of its own.

Love 2 Dance will be performing at the Whitgift Fashion Festival between 3pm and 4pm on April 25.

The group arrives fresh from having won a national competition to star in a new Alvin and The Chipmunks advert, which was filmed earlier this month.

The 10 youngsters from Love 2 Dance will be performing street dance routines all choreographed by dance expert, Danielle Blenman.

The Whitgift will also host five “urban and funky” fashion shows between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, April 24, and a series of fashion demonstrations and exhibitions throughout the Croydon Fashion Festival.

Ian Harvey, from the Whitgift centre, said: “The dance-off will feature dancers from Croydon College and Peridot as well as Love 2 Dance, all wearing sports and casual clothing available from retailers in the Whitgift centre.”

Croydon Bid manager Ros Morgan said: “We are looking forward to some action- packed performances at this year’s festival.

“As organisers of this town centre entertainment, the Bid team has always tried to make the festival programme relevant and exciting – and this year is no exception.

“The lively programme is certain to attract shoppers to the area in their droves once again.”
