A man was stabbed and another punched in the face during an attempted knifepoint robbery onboard a nightbus in Clapham.

The pair, both from Balham, were travelling on Friday, April 2, about 4.30am in Kings Avenue, Clapham, when four suspects approached them demanding their money.

A Lambeth police spokesman said: “A disagreement ensued that involved one victim aged 23 from Balham receiving a bloody nose and another victim aged 20 from Balham receiving a cut to his neck and a puncture wound to each leg.”

The suspects, who got off the bus and made off on foot toward Bedford Road after the attack, are described as four young white men of slim or athletic build, all between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in.

The first wore a black jacket with a grey hood and black vertical stripe through the centre of it, while the second wore a black basketball jacket with ‘Lakers’ written on the back.

The third suspect wore a black and grey checked hooded jacket, which had a grey hood, and the fourth wore a black hooded jumper and grey hoop print and blue jeans.

A Lambeth police spokesman said: “Were you on board that bus that morning or at the bus stop when the suspects got off and ran away, can you help?”
