The ownership of Selhurst Park remains the main stumbling block for the CPFC 2010 Consortium's takeover of Crystal Palace.

The group of wealthy businessman, who have so far kept their identities secret but are believed to include TAG Worldwide chief executive Steve Parish and former chairman Ron Noades, are still some way off agreeing a deal with the ground's administrators, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).

They have been keeping a low profile since being given preferred bidder status by Palace's administrators The P&A Partnership two weeks ago, sparking fears their interest in completing the takeover had dwindled.

Spokesman for the group, DJ David Jensen, though, says they remain fully committed to the cause and the only reason for a lack of news is that nothing has been agreed as yet.

"At the moment there's nothing really to report as negotiations are ongoing," he said.

"The ground still remains a bone that has to be chewed on and that's not going away over night.

"It is very important to the consortium that the ground and the club are united.

"But what the ground's administrators feel is the right price and what the consortium want to pay is not exactly the same.

"There's no deadline though and the will hasn't gone away and their determination remains intact.

"I think this consortium is still the best bet we have at the minute and hopefully we can hang on and have some good news soon."

Noades has previously stated he believed PWC were after £10m for the ground but thought they were unlikely to get any more than £8m.
