Two lucky youngsters won a training session with England legend Lawrence Dallaglio after taking part in the Sacla’ Rugby festival at Sutton and Epsom Rugby Club.

Zuriel Witter, 7, and Charlie Aylward, 11, both from Sutton and Epsom Rugby Club, were joined by other youngsters from across south London on Sunday (April 11).

The pair met the former England captain at the festival and will now be coached by Dallaglio at an exclusive national training session at Twickenham, “The Home of Rugby”, on June 5.

Zuriel, who has only been playing rugby for a year, said: “I am really looking forward to seeing Lawrence again at the training session in June.

"Today’s festival was amazing and it should be fantastic to go to Twickenham with all the other winners.”

Mr Dallaglio said: “The festival at Sutton & Epsom was an unbelievably organised event, with so many kids getting the chance to get out and be active, which is so important.

“These festivals are all about upholding the core values of the game, and ensuring that thousands of kids across the country are encouraged to spend more time playing sport."

The youngsters were selected for their sportsmanship, discipline and fair play throughout the day’s festival and they will join over 100 other children from all over the UK for the special session.

Ian Lovatt, chairman of Sutton and Epsom Rugby Club, said: “All the clubs and all the people who’ve been involved have done an excellent job, and the festival organisers deserve particular praise for the way the event has run.

“I’m delighted that the youngsters have been chosen to go to Twickenham, you only have to look at the faces of all those involved as to what the festival means to them.”
