Cricketing legend Sir Ian Botham will continue his latest charity walk from Sutton this week exactly 25 years after his famous first walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

Beefy’s Forget Me Not Walk will cover 10 towns in 10 days, from April 10-19, to raise money for the blood cancer charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

On April 15, the sixth day of his walk, the former England all-rounder will start off from Marks and Spencer, on Sutton High Street, and walk for 10 miles to Epsom Downs Racecourse.

Sir Ian, who is also president of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, said: “My walk in 2010 will be extra special for me as it marks 25 years since I did my first walk, and also the 50th birthday for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. I never forget why I put myself through the pain and blisters.

“Sign up and join me on the walk and help ensure that every child diagnosed with one of these cancers will survive. I won’t stop until we beat childhood leukaemia, but I can’t do it without you.”
