Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following a fight between two groups of men in Walton, on April 8.

The incident took place between 11.30pm and midnight at Memorial Green, in Ashley Road, when officers on patrol came across two groups arguing.

The police intervened and the groups went their separate ways, but 20 minutes later the officers were called back to the area because the men had returned and a fight started.

Three of the men ran from the scene, including one who managed to avoid capture by breaking into a derelict building opposite the Wellington pub.

A police spokesman said one man was treated for minor injuries.

* A 23-year-old man from Shepperton was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and is currently on police bail.
