I had to laugh when I read your report that Councillor Adrian Dennis had written to John Two Jags Prescott to call for more international co-operation in fighting climate change caused by greenhouse gases, of which road vehicles emit a large proportion.
Councillor Dennis is also a member of the majority Labour group, which has decided that it no longer wants to supervise the public services and works department, which produces anti-cycling, pro-car proposals such as the Upper Norwood one-way scheme, described by Ken Livingstone as an absolute nightmare. So the council has now introduced the scheme immediately as a temporary traffic restriction, something it can do without getting any approval.
