May 26, 2006. London Sustainability Weeks. Events during London Sustainability Weeks (4-18 June) range from recycled sculpture exhibitions to business seminars on sustainable offices. The events are organised by ordinary Londoners determined to make their City a great place to live in and to help improve the local and global environment. Everyone is encouraged to show their love for London by attending one of these events and consequently helping to make London a better place to live.

The Love London team will be there giving out guides to this year's festival plus lots of fairtrade and ethical goodies to help you make a promise to the earth and lead a more sustainable life.

The Kingston Green Fair offers fantastic music, creative and unusual activities, walkabouts, giveaways, art installations, a huge array of stalls and a whole host of other fun for children and adults alike. Powered entirely by wind, sun or bicycle, the fair is an unforgettable celebration of sustainability in action.

Canbury Gardens Riverside, 11am-8pm Read more ________________________________________ Camden Green Fair & Bike Fest: 4 June Camden Green Fair will be launching London Sustainability Weeks this year. This much-loved Fair has gone from strength to strength, providing an opportunity to celebrate all the work that is going on in Camden, London and around the world to protect and improve our environment and quality of life. Last year the event was the biggest and most successful yet, with an estimated 15,000 visitors.

Highlights will include a rally of electric cars, led by the Love London G-Wiz. 50 or more of these nifty little electric vehicles will be racing around Regents Parks Inner Circle.

Z London Multicultural Environment Fair: Londons ethnic communities come together to celebrate and protect the environment. Hackney Town Hall, Tuesday 13 June Z Sheep Racing: Forget the Derby, this is the Baa-by! Our woolly friends take over Spitalfields City Farm for The Sheep and Wool Fair. Aside from the racing, theres sheep shearing, sheep rearing, wool spinning, felt making and, of course, lots and lots of sheep! Spitalfields City Farm, Sunday 4 June Z Through the Keyhole: Environmental author and media personality Donnachadh McCarthy throws open the doors of his Camberwell eco-home to show how easy it can be to live a green life in the city. Z Recyclingness is Next to Godliness: Sculptor Anthony Wilson makes works of art from recycled materials. For London Sustainability Weeks he will transform the garden of the Sun & Doves bar/restaurant into a sculpture park containing an Aztec Scorpion made from a Mini car, jousting knights, Charlie Chaplin, Inca masks, a 20 foot angel in a tree and much more. Z Go Electric to Avoid Parking Fines!: Westminster City Council, the council with the highest level of parking fines in the whole of England, is running a workshop to encourage people to switch to electric cars. Aside from being clean and green, electric cars are exempt from the congestion charge, do not have to pay street parking charges and can be refuelled for free from over 50 charging points throughout Westminster.
