I believe Matthew Brabbs and his friends were right to hand over their cash to the thugs who robbed them (The laughing policemen? Croydon Guardian, May 17).
We hear of too many cases where people are beaten or stabbed to death for the sake of a few pounds.
The police are paid to protect the public from such crimes.
If the officers are found to be at fault I hope they will be suitably reprimanded.
Let us not judge the entire police force on this case. On the whole the police take the job seriously and do their best to cope with difficult and dangerous situations.
