Year six pupils put on their reporters' hats and made their way to the town hall last Thursday.
The Norbury Manor Primary School pupils quizzed former mayor Maggie Mansell in the mayor's parlour about her year in office and her love of science.
The interview was one of a series of question and answer sessions the pupils have conducted. Norbury Manor teacher Clover Thompson said: "The day was a great experience for the students before they move on to secondary school in the summer."
