Five trophies were on display at Croydon Schools Football Association's (CSFA) sixth annual presentation evening which took place at Archbishop Tenison's CE High School.

The audience of more than 250 players, parents and guests heard CSFA honorary secretary, David Lomas, report that it would have been exceptional if Croydon's achievement of winning nine trophies in the 2004/5 season had been equalled.

Most successful of the borough teams was the U12s who won the south-east area Patrick Haugh Trophy and the Surrey Schools Gibson Cup.

Among those presenting the awards were Croydon's former deputy mayor, Councillor Pat Ryan, and Croydon Central MP Andrew Pelling.

The John Rice Trophy was presented to the team manager who had made the most significant contribution to the work of the CSFA in the past season Mike Wadsley (Smitham), who was awarded the trophy for his work as primary cup secretary and team manager of the U14s.

There were also players' player of the season and team managers' player of the season awards and winners were as follows:

Players' player: U11 Derek Tieku (Courtwood), U12 Alex Wynter (Ashburton), U13 Ibra Sekajja (Ashburton), U14 Jamie Butler (Royal Russell), U15 Charlie Ottaway (St Joseph's), U16 Paul Johnson (St Joseph's).

Managers' player: U11 Haydn Dickinson (Parish Church), U12 Louis John (Ashburton), U13 George Robe (Whitgift), U14 Ryan Casim (Coulsdon), U15 Michael Hunt (Coulsdon), U16 Jack Walker (Edenham).
