The face of David Cameron's youthful Conservatism is embodied by Addiscombe's trio of newly-elected councillors, who seized all three seats from Labour.
Fresh-faced Russell Jackson, 22, Andrew Price, 26, and 31-year-old Maria Garcia De La Huerta are promising to breathe new life into the ward.
Councillor Price said: "I don't know whether it's got anything to do with David Cameron, more to do with the people of Addiscombe."
Coun Jackson said: "We were quietly confident because we've worked incredibly hard and we didn't really know whether we could win it or not. We really wanted it and we really went for it and that shows in the result."
For Councillor Garcia de la Huerta, the triumph was marred somewhat by the recent death of her father.
She said: "I'm particularly overwhelmed because my father died a month ago and he can't be here but he's looking down on me so it's a bit sad at the same time.
"I'm really proud of the Addiscombe residents because they're taking a chance on the three of us."
