Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie has indicated he will remain in charge of the Eagles next season and feels the club's likely continued existence in the Championship will not make it harder to attract new players.

The Palace boss was left deflated after his side's 3-0 capitulation to Watford on Saturday which left the Eagles needing a miracle in their play-off semi -final second leg at Vicarage Road last night (Tuesday) to keep alive the club's Premiership dream.

Dowie is regarded as one of the brightest young managerial talents in the English game and with the likelihood of a number of high-profile jobs coming up in the summer there are concerns the ambitious boss will be tempted to leave Selhurst Park.

When asked if the club's likely failure to win promotion via the play-offs would mean he will exit the club, Dowie said: "I don't think so. Not unless the chairman says otherwise."

The role of Eagles chairman Simon Jordan is going to be an important one this summer. Not just regarding the future of Dowie but also in the club's attempts to bring in new players.

Dowie feels the Eagles are still an attractive option for potential new signings and is confident his chairman will provide the necessary funds so improvements can be made.

Dowie said: "The chairman has always been a good payer and this is a big club. I've said all along that this is a club which has a huge fan base and is an attractive club, there's no question about that."

As well as trying to attract players to Selhurst Park, Dowie will face a summer fending away clubs interested in some of his key players.

Andrew Johnson, Ben Watson, Jobi McAnuff and Tom Soares are likely to attract the most interest from Premiership sides and Dowie is braced for the offers to come in but feels it's a positive sign of how far the club has come.

"I'm sure they will as we've got good players," added Dowie.

"It always makes me laugh when you think about things. Since we've been here we have got two U21 internationals, an England U20 player and full international in the team, so we've got assets on the field.

"If you ask any side in the division and the teams in the division above about some of our players they'll be interested."
