It was the question on everyone's lips. Would they do it or not? Well, let's get it over with. Yes, six men did do the Full Monty in the production of the same title last week at The Barn in Oxted.

It was only two seconds of the whole production, but a certain member of strip group Hot Metal was the talk of the town afterwards. I can't say any more in a family newspaper but I think the audiences over four nights from March 22 to 25,will know what I mean!

Produced by Croydon-based am-dram company Add Lib and Score (ALAS) it was a good quality drama helped by an excellent script.

Some of my favourite lines were: "Just call me Tina Turner, I'm a private dancer," Dave to Jerry, worried about his weight and from Horse: "They let me go at McDonald's, said I wasn't cheerful enough."

The storyline is basically the same as the film men who are made redundant form a strip group of normal' guys while two fall in love (there was even a gay kiss in this) but this is a musical.

Together with a live band, Clive Bowden and Lee Durnford, playing the principal parts of Jerry and Dave (the fat one) respectively, were totally convincing. Durnford was the stronger singer, but Bowden won over the audience portraying Dave's marriage trouble.

The play was helped by the fact that on at least two occasions, actors inadvertently bared their buttocks getting unscheduled titters from the audience.
