Croydon Schools U12s retained the English Schools south-east Area Patrick Haugh Trophy with a convincing 3-1 win over Mid Sussex Schools in the final.
Croydon got off to a great start with two goals in a minute by Ashburton's Alex Wynter.
The home side reduced the arrears with a scrambled goal from a left wing cross halfway into the second half and for a few minutes Croydon looked vulnerable.
But it was 3-1 to Croydon within five minutes when the hapless home goalkeeper somehow let a shot from Kyle De Silva (Harris CTC) squirm under his body and roll over the goalline.
Royal Russell School overcame a strong challenge from Whitgift School to win the Croydon Schools Cup Final, at Whitgift last Thursday, winning 2-1 after extra-time.
A penalty in the last minute gave Whitgift a lifeline, after Luke Turner had shot Royal Russell into the lead, but Ben Flint got the winner with a superb left foot strike in the first minute of extra-time.
Croydon Schools U11s suffered a rare defeat against Barking and Dagenham Schools in the semi-final of the London Schools FA Crisp Shield, at Greenacres, Warlingham on Saturday, losing 1-0.
