A brilliant stand of 183 by Chris Bullen and Admam Saleem was not quite enough to give Addiscombe victory over reigning Surrey Division One champions Surrey.
Put into bat Addiscombe were struggling at 31 for 3 but a magnificent 120 by Saleem coupled with cultured support from Chris Bullen saw Addiscombe to a daunting total of 247 for 5. Saleem started slowly but soon accelerated the scoring rate to cut loose with five sixes and 12 fours.
Saleem then set about the Wimbledon batting order in similarly dismissive fashion taking 4 for 22 in a blistering spell of pace bowling. Chris Bullen took a couple of fine catches and Richard Johnson weighed in with 3 for 48 as Wimbledon wickets fell at regular intervals. Just as a home win looked on the cards the Wimbledon tail fought back, denying everything Addiscombe could throw at them. And in spite of Saleem's superb efforts Addiscombe had to be satisfied with a win draw.
