Recent figures released by the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service suggest employment relations in Croydon are improving.
ACAS, an independent body which exists to provide impartial service to prevent and resolve disputes, has revealed that since 1996 claims to industrial tribunals throughout London have dropped by more than five per cent. In the Croydon area in 1997, just 419 cases were received with 65 per cent settled or withdrawn. While only 35 per cent of cases actually progressed to a tribunal hearing.
Bill Greenaway ACAS director for the South East said: "The signs are that employment relations are taking a turn for the better''.
