Open day at
tennis club
TENNIS: Selsdon Tennis Club is holding an open day on Sunday, March 29.
The club is looking to attract new intermediate players, 16 and over, during the day between 2pm and 5pm. Further open days are being held throughout April at the club in Queenhill Road, Selsdon, for experienced club players and juniors.
Fitz fizzes
ATHLETICS: Croydon Harriers' leading road runner John Fitzpatrick ran an impressive 70 mins 5secs to place 19th in the Reading half marathon at the weekend. Both Fitzpatrick and Barry Cooke, who recently finished 203 in the national cross-country championships, have been selected to run for Surrey in the Inter -counties 20 miles championships at Finchley this Sunday (March 29)
Broken promise
RUGBY: Despite a promising start Streatham & Croydon couldn't build on an early lead in their last league match of the season against Horsham on Saturday. Horsham ran in five tries to win comfortably.
