It's the last chance saloon for pubs and clubs in Croydon as the deadline for applying for new licences looms.
Only 10 per cent of Croydon's 1,031 hotels, clubs, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets have so far applied for a new licence ahead of the August 6 closing date.
The licensing laws are changing and anyone who supplies or sells alcohol, including small sports clubs, must apply for a new-style licence, even if they are not changing their opening times. The council is calling time on licensees saying it could be a dry Christmas in many pubs and bars unless they get their applications in.
Croydon Council has sent reminders to those licensees who have yet to submit applications.
For an application form, help in applying or more information call the licensing team on 020 8407 1312, email licensing@croydon.gov.uk or visit www.culture.gov.uk/alcohol_and_entertainment.
