Elena Tserpitskaya is presenting a piano recital at St John the Evangelist Church.
Born in 1978 in Kletsk, Belorussia, Elena's formal education in piano began at the age of 15 when she entered music college. Winning a place at the Belorussian State Academy of Music in Minsk, she gained a first class degree and masters in performance and teaching. During her time at the academy Elena appeared in a number of performances with some major orchestra and a variety of ensembles as both accompanist and soloist.
Elena worked for four years as a professional piano teacher with classes of all ages and levels before coming to England in 2004 to study at the Royal Academy of Music.
Elena chooses her programme herself and always selects music of emotional diversity. The sombre gentleness of Bach's Chorale Prelude in G minor could not be in further contrast to the emotionally charged and varied Rachmaninov Preludes.
There should be something for everyone. Elena's accurate, lightly romantic, non-sentimental playing and her honest and intuitive interpretation of her chosen music allows us to experience a truly beautiful performance.
The beautiful settings and acoustics of St John the Evangelist Church, and the music of Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Rachmaninov and Chopin will make a very pleasant evening one to remember. A warm welcome is assured to all and wine, fruit juice and nibbles will be available from 6.30pm.
