Epsom 200-9
Addiscombe 181

A youthful Addiscombe side were close to grabbing their first victory of the season on Saturday but finished up 19 runs short of victory.

After winning the toss, Addiscombe inserted the hosts into bat and some tight bowling restricted Epsom to 200-9, with Dale Cooper notching four wickets.

In reply, Addiscombe started slowly with the loss of two wickets.

But James Dandridge (46), George Evans (42) and James Bamber (39) gave Addiscombe some hope and pushed their side in sight of a long-awaited victory.

Epsom needed to make some quick breakthroughs to stop the Addiscombe fightback, which they did with some good bowling and a little fortune, as the visitors struggled to gain runs after the dismissal of their big hitters.

Eventually Addiscombe fell 20 runs short as Epsom wrapped up their victory to extend the visitors losing streak.

But on a positive note, Addiscombe remain confident they can beat the drop, especially with the recent injection of local players and youthful enthusiasm.
