Bus initiative
An initiative to cut the number of pupils travelling to school by car has been unveiled by Croydon Council.
Some 5,600 pupils under 16 travel to school in Croydon by car but figures show that travelling by bus or coach is much safer. The council wants London Transport to introduce school buses and lower speed limits near schools.
New service
A new £23,000 bus route for Selsdon shoppers is being launched later this month.
The single-deck 359 Metrobus service is the second service sponsored by Croydon Council.
It will be piloted for six months running from Court Wood Lane in Forestdale to Old Farleigh Road, Selsdon.
