A 15-year-old South Norwood boy is recovering after being attacked in a vicious street robbery.

He was walking down Archer Road at around 7.15pm on Friday when he passed a gang of youths near the Albert Road junction.

One of them grabbed the boy's arm demanding cash before pushing him against a wall, kneeing him in the groin and punching him several times.

The victim managed to run off, feeling shaken and in some pain.

Police say the attacker was white, aged about 18, wearing a dark blue shiny puffer jacket.

They want to speak to anyone who saw the gang.
