An unemployed man from New Addington, held by police in connection with the stabbing of Abigail Witchalls, has not been charged with the attack.
Terry Barnes, 25, was arrested last Wednesday in connection with the attack on April 20 when the 26-year-old was stabbed in the back of the neck and left for dead in Little Bookham, Surrey.
But the mum-of-one, who is said to be making a slow recovery in St George's Hospital, Tooting, did not pick him out during a video identity parade.
Barnes had been quizzed for two days by police officers but was released on Friday.
He was immediately arrested in connection with breach of bail on burglary offences and was remanded in custody by Guildford Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
Barnes is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on August 12 charged with two counts of burglary. Police say they have not ruled Barnes out of their inquiries, but have also said they have been given 32 names by members of the public and are focusing their investigation on six key suspects.
