OSBOURNE TAKES THE BISCUIT.
MERTON 0 - KENLEY 5.
A devastating second half showing enabled Kenley to see off a stubborn Merton side on Saturday.
Kenley were continually frustrated by the home side's packed defence during a goalless first half, but a frank half time discussion ensured a much improved second display. Substitute Alistair Osborne played a major part in changing the course of the game and it was he who set the ball rolling with the game's opening goal. A free-flowing passing move created space for Osborne on the right who easilys cored.
A minute later Osborne doubled Kenley's lead with a masterful solo goal that saw him jink past three defenders and slot home at the near post. That was the signal for Merton's previously solid defence to crumble and Osborne soon created a third for Simon Beck. Sean McArthur made it four and Osborne completed a memorable hat-trick with a last minute penalty flick to make it five.
