Kenley 0 Merton 6
Kenley expected a difficult match against a side that they had already lost against twice this season and that's exactly what they got.
The game started well for Merton who took the lead through a well worked short corner and a penalty flick. But the game's momentum was reduced by some finicky decisions from the match officials.
Kenley started to slow Merton's attack and subsequently created a few efforts on goal. With a Kenley side plagued by injuries, the finishing was not to their usual quality. Merton were two up at half time.
Within the first 15 minutes of the second half, Merton produced some quick attacks, which earned them another two goals.
Another penalty flick was awarded to Merton, who squandered their opportunity to add to their tally.
Kenley vainly tried to win a consolation goal for their efforts. However, Merton's fitness and general team work became a decisive factor, as Kenley tried to attack, they conceded two further goals.
