Big-hearted council bosses are offering grants of up to £1,000 to help small events celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee in style.
Croydon Council is offering awards of £500 and £1,000 to support local events and is also waiving fees for street closures and the hire of public parks for the weekend of June 1 to June 4.
Applications will be considered from residents' groups, community groups and voluntary organisations and each will be judged on their merits.
Priority will be given to projects which encourage wide participation, involve excluded and disadvantaged groups, or leave a lasting legacy.
The deadline for applications is March 29. For details, contact the council's executive office on 020 8686 4433.
