It seems there is no love lost between former Brit School students Amy Winehouse and Katie Melua.
At a recent awards evening north London girl Amy Winehouse took a verbal swipe at her rival, slating her music and criticising her for not writing her own songs.
By contrast the 19-year-old Redhill singer, who knocked Dido off the number one spot in the album charts earlier this year, played down any rift saying she had never met Ms Winehouse.
The Diary has to ask if it was a touch of the green-eyed monster that led to Miss Winehouse's vitriolic remarks?
