Old Mid-Whitgiftian 207-8
East Molesey 189-8

Old Mid-Whitgiftian's six-match winning run came to an end on Saturday after they were held by fellow promotion contenders East Molesey.

OMW openers Ben Shorten (35) and Andy Bennett (22) put togethher an opening stand of 65. Babu (37) and Tony Brugnoli (22) also added to the total before losing their wickets in the space of an over.

Captain Robert Warne repaired the damage with an unbeaten 31, receiving good support from Mike Brugnoli (27) and James Carpenter (10 not out) to allow Mids to declare on 207 for 8.

In reply the visitors found themselves in early trouble as Babu removed both openers cheaply. Trevor Brown (47) led the fightback with a stand of 43 with Kieran Burge (33).

Lawford and Brown continued to keep the visitors' hopes alive before Brown, then Glynn, were bowled by Gardner.

A direct hit to run out Lang moments later gave Mids a genuine sniff of victory, but Lawford and Leacock added 33 for the eighth wicket to take East Molesey past the 184 needed for the four points.
