I'm writing about the article regarding Paul Row and the friendship he formed with Elijah Wood during the filming of The Yank (Guardian, July 28).

While it was interesting to read about his experience, I was very surprised to see him quoted as saying that actor Marc Warren was "quite obnoxious".

I'm disappointed that you chose to print this derogatory remark without any kind of follow-up about exactly what he found so obnoxious about Mr Warren, or placing it in any kind of context.

As you can probably guess, I'm a fan of Marc Warren's. Frankly, I've read many comments about him from his co-stars in past projects, and also spoken to people who have met him personally. Everyone has always praised both his personal and professional manners, so to see him described as obnoxious was very surprising.

Of course, I understand that Paul Row is entitled to his opinion and, for all I know, maybe he did have an unpleasant encounter with Mr Warren. I'm aware that you have space constraints for your articles, but I'm sorry that you didn't explain such a disparaging comment more fully.
