I am trying to find a copy of a seven-inch single that was recorded by a Croydon-based rock band in 1980.
The band was called Slowtrain and the A-side of the record was entitled Ronnie. I think it was about a runaway/homeless person.
The singer of the band was Steve Twohill and I think the band was managed at the time by Dave Fowler. I am pretty sure that the record was only distributed in the Croydon area and was probably sold at local gigs.
I am hoping that one of your readers may still have a copy of the record that they might be willing to sell to me or maybe one of the band members is still in the local area and might be able to help me. I have checked the second-hand record shops in Croydon but to no avail. The band never became well known as far as I know.
If any of your readers is able to help me I will be very grateful indeed. I can be contacted by email on t.gale@herts.ac.uk or 01462 642011 (eves).
