A South Croydon student has enjoyed soaking up the Caribbean sun after winning a trip to a medical summer camp in the West Indies.
Rina Endo, who is planning to become a doctor, won the trip after attending Medsim, a conference at the University of Nottingham.
More than 3,000 students took part in a quiz to win one of four places at the 2004 10-day premedical Medsim summer camp in Grenada.
The 18-year-old said: "When I heard I was one of the four students to have won a trip to the I was ecstatic."
Rina spent almost two weeks in Grenada. The 10-day camp medicine programme included sessions on studying skills, clinical lab skills and medical instruction. Students also visited local hospitals and clinics.
