Several major building projects will transform the face of our town by 2014, and you can get a sneak preview when the Future of Croydon exhibition opens in September.

Croydon town centre is anticipating more than £2billion of investment in the next five years, of which £1.75billion is targeted for an impressive redevelopment arc covering the Gateway site, Fairfield, Freshwater Tower and Park Place.

To showcase the exciting developments and exhibit how Croydon will develop over the next 10 years, Croydon Marketing and Development (CMD) are organising the month-long show in Croydon Clocktower from Tuesday, September 14 featuring models, drawing and developers to answer questions.

The principal sponsor of the exhibition is Arrowcroft, Croydon Council's development partner for the Croydon Gateway site, boosted last week when rival Stanhope and Schroders' appeal was turned down.

Croydon's Cultural Partnership is planning a Cultural Quarter stretching from the proposed Arena site to the old town and the London Development Agency has recently nominated Croydon as one of ten creative hubs across London.

Culture and the creative industries lie at the heart of Croydon's regeneration and to celebrate this, artists and architects have been invited to exhibit work on the theme of the exhibition. Selected work will be exhibited both at the Clocktower and at the Architecture, Art and Design Centre.

Town centre manager Tony Hart said: "Every year we exhibit at the MIPIM property exhibition in Cannes, so we thought it would be nice to let the people of Croydon see the future of their town for themselves."

The exhibition will run in Croydon Clocktower from Tuesday, September 14 until Sunday, October 10 and coincides with the opening of the House of Fraser in Centrale.
