When you are doing the Christmas and New-Year shopping, it is so easy to overdo it and buy more of those delicious treats than you really need. In our household, we spend most of January and February saying that we are going to go on a diet and continually putting it off for another day because there is still some Christmas pudding or cake to be finished up before the diet starts!
Then when we do finally get down to it, the snow comes down again which is a perfect excuse to indulge in a large mug of hot chocolate or bowls of thick soup to warm yourself up. In cold weather, a lettuce leaf, cottage cheese or a chrispbread don't seem that appealing! So therefore, the post-it note on the fridge door saying DIET STARTS TOMORROW is becoming rather well-worn looking. Perhaps we will see Easter out of the way and finish up all of the Easter eggs before the diet properly starts. Oh well, there's always tomorrow!
