A cowboy bin man is breaking the law by offering his services to unsuspecting households, Merton Council has said.
The 5ft 10in black man, who is aged about 45, is accepting cash in hand payment to take away bulky items - which he then flytips nearby.
Councillor David Simpson, the council’s cabinet member for the environment and leisure services, said waste companies needed a licence to work legally.
He said: “We want this man caught so that residents are not duped into handing over money to a criminal. It can be intimidating too for some of our more vulnerable residents when people come knocking at their door offering a service for money.”
