Neil Warnock should be cheered and not jeered when he returns to Crystal Palace next month, according to the editor of club fansite holmesdale.net.

Warnock left the Eagles on Monday night to take over at Queens Park Rangers following a turbulent time at Palace since the club went into administration.

With QPR visiting Selhurst Park on April 10, reaction to Warnock could be mixed but Gordon Law insists people should remember the success the 61 year-old had at the club.

"I do not think people will boo him as what he has achieved at the club has been fantastic," he said.

"He has had so many financial constraints and worked miracles with the group of players he has got as it is not a good squad in terms of ability.

"He has moulded them into a fantastic side though with great team spirit and work ethic.

"Palace fans should look back on his time as very successful, had he been backed with more money then I am sure we could have gone up.

"I totally understand his decision to go and I don't think anybody has any hard feelings towards him and they understand his position.

"His future was uncertain and he had to think of his family so it makes sense for him to go when there is the opportunity."

Law admitted though he fears for Palace's future in the Championship and that relegation to League One is now a distinct possibility.

"I think it is a complete disaster for Palace right now," he said.

"It could not have happened at a worse time with the club so precariously close to the relegation zone.

"Warnock is one of the best managers in the league and in the situation we are in at the moment there are not many managers better to keep us up in the circumstances.

"He is the sort of guy that thrives on that pressure and to lose him is a massive blow for the football club."
