Heartless burglars have stolen children’s toys from garages in Mitcham.
Merton police revealed bicycles and motorised toys are among the items taken in Pollards Hill recently, and asked residents to be vigilant after a string of burglaries in the Sherwood Park Road area. Thieves are thought to be using alleyways behind homes to break into the garages.
A police spokesman said: “Please ensure garages are secured properly. Pollards Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team can advise on suitable security measures as it has been shown that normal garage door locks are not adequate.”
