Sean Rivers believes Chipstead can forget about a relegation battle after returning to winning ways at Whyteleafe on Saturday.

The striker scored against his former club as Mark Tompkins' side triumphed 2-0 at Church Road, Ray Freeman grabbing the other as the Chips registered their first league win in 2010 after three defeats in their last four games.

"We needed the points on Saturday and I think next two games against Chatham Town and Corinthian Casuals are winnable ones." said Rivers.

"I think we will be alright now and start to climb the table and finish comfortably.

"The play-offs might be out of reach and we will would have to win pretty much every game for that but we can start to build towards next season."

Rivers has scored 18 goals in 19 games for Chipstead after his move from Guildford City, where he had a record of 15 strikes in 16 matches.

"I'm really pleased to be past 30 for the season already," he said.

"The last time I was this prolific was when I was at Whyteleafe the first time and scored something like one in two, but this is one in one at the minute.

"It's down to the service really from the lads out wide who get the balls in.

"They way the team is set up to play it benefits me because we get the ball out to the wide men and they put it into the box for me.

"It's always good to score but it was extra special on Saturday when it was against my old side "I know a lot of the lads at Whyteleafe and there a quite a few of them that used to play for Chipstead too.

"I haven't really got a target but once I get past 20 for Chipstead I will then look at 25, then 30."

Next three matches: February 13 Chatham Town (h), 16 Corinthian Casuals (h), 18 Sittingbourne Town (a).
