by Community Correspondent Alexandra McGoran Cliff Richard recently celebrated his 50th anniversary with a sell out world tour. Cliff and the Shadows was a brilliant show. It was great to see his energy on stage, which is amazing considering he is 69. The singing was excellent and Cliff really knew how to get the crowd going. I attended the charity evening in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Cliff thanked everyone for contributing to the hospital appeal and said that all the fluffy animals thrown on stage would be given to the children’s wards. This got a tremendous cheer.

The shadows played guitar brilliantly and were extraordinarily talented. My friends were all jealous when I told them I went to the after show party. It was a star-studded event as it would be the last time Cliff and the shadows played together on tour in the UK. I also met Marty Wilde (rock ‘n’ roll singer), Kim Wilde (singer), Gloria Hunniford (TV presenter), Dennis Waterman (Actor/singer), Amanda Redman (actress), Mike Berry (singer/actor), Justin Hayward (Guitarist/singer), and lots more.

I thought my glow sticks were a brilliant idea, but when I got there I found that everyone had electronic flashing gadgets of every shape and size which out shone my glow sticks. Oh well!
