Medieval mayhem is set to come to Bourne Hall this March as the conference centre holds its annual Herald of Spring festival.

As the folk of pre-Renaissance Epsom and Ewell gather to celebrate St Ebba’s Day beside the village cross and stocks, adventurous visitors will have the chance to go to knight school, embark on a quest and take part in period war games.

Those of a quieter nature can try their hand at traditional activities including spinning and basket weaving, or learn to dance in the ancient style to the sound of medieval musicians.

Squires and noble ladies, herbalists and a preaching friar will also be making appearances on the day, while battle re-enactment group Paladins of Chivalry will be wowing the crowds with their feats of archaic action.

The Flower of Chivalry event runs from 10am to 5pm on March 6, and 11am to 5pm on March 7.

Admission is £3 for adults, £2 for OAPs and free for children under 12.
