A songwriter who penned a track for a Beyonce Knowles film has just missed out on a Grammy.
Scott McFarnon, from Wallington, was nominated in the Best Song in a Motion Picture category for the ballad Once in a Lifetime at Sunday’s awards held in Los Angeles.
The song, which features in the film Cadillac Records was pipped by another track, Jai Ho, from Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire.
Cadillac Records details the rise of some of America’s musical legends, including Muddy Waters, Etta James and Chuck Berry.
Mr McFarnon, who also just missed out on a Golden Globe, came to international recognition last summer when he penned Mark Ronson and Daniel Merriweather’s smash hit, Red.
