Shoppers in Battersea got a free healthcheck recently as part of a campaign to promote good health across the borough.

The health screenings, orgnaised by NHS Wandsworth and the Blood Pressure Association, are open to residents aged between 40 and 74, and are designed to help prevent heart attacks, stroke, diabetes and other cardiovascular problems.

Further screening days are planned at the Tooting Grove Residence Club House, Effort Street, near St George’s Hospital, on Thursday 4 February, and in the car park of Asda, Clapham Junction, Lavender Hill, on Friday, February 5 and Wednesday, February 17.
